Description
To provide laundering of government owned hospital linens in accordance with JACHO and Title 22 specifications. This synopsis is issued in order to identify interested prospective offerors where the site of performance is unknown. This contract is subject to the Services Contract Act. Wage determinations have been requested for the following counties: Sacramento, Contra Costa, Alameda, San Joaquin, Solano, San Francisco, Santa Clara and Sonoma. The Contracting Officer will request wage determinations for additional localities if asked to do so in writing by 08 Mar 02. Issue date is on or about 08 March 02. Response date is on or about 08 April 02. Period of performance is 01 May 2002 through 30 September 2002, plus four one-year option periods. The solicitation package will be posted in the FED BIZ OPPS, which can be accessed at http://www.eps.gov/. The government will not provide paper copies of the solicitation package. Facsimile, telephone, written or e-mail requests for the solicitation package will not be honored. Potential offerors are responsible for monitoring the FED BIZ OPPS site for release of the solicitation package and downloading their own copy of the solicitation package and any other pertinent information. Prospective offerors shall submit the company name, address, phone number, FAX number, point of contact, e-mail address, DUNS number, and business classification (i.e. Large, small, disadvantaged, 8a, hub zone, woman-owned, disabled veterans, etc.) All potential sources must be registered in Central Contractor Register (CCR) in order to transact business with the government. NAICS Code is 812331. The related Small Business Size Standard is $6 million. Hospital laundry services include, but are not limited to: six day per week pick-up/delivery of linens between 0700 and 0830 at David Grant Medical Center; 24 hour turnaround of laundry; repair of minor rips, tears, seams, hemming, zippers and holes; price inclusive washroom test services; limited emergency linen services; pricing per pound with maximum shrinkage factor. Work to be performed at contractors facility. The government will provide laundry carts and all linens are government owned. Annual estimated workload: 685,000 lbs. All responsible sources may submit a proposal, which shall be considered. This acquisition is being advertised unrestricted. This is a commercial acquisition.
