Description
The Dept. of Veterans Affairs 50 Irving Street NW, Washington, DC 20422 is seeking on-site transcriptionist(s) to work flexible hours (including weekends) at this medical center. Normal working hours are Monday thru Friday 8am ? 4:30pm, Monday thru Friday 2:30pm ? 8:30pm, and Sunday 9?3pm. Contract period is from April 1, 2002 thru 9/30/02 with two one-year renewal options, subject to the availability of funds. Option periods are 10/1/02 ? 9/30/03 and 10/1/03 ? 9/30/04. The transcriptionist(s) will be responsible for transcribing imaging reports into the VAMC Decentralized Hospital Computer System (DHCP) using a Lanier Dictation System and the Radiology Transcription Computer System within DHCP. The Contractor must be regularly established in the business of Medical/Radiology transcribing services (minimum 5 years) and the transcriptionists must be certified and have at least a minimum of two years of recent experience transcribing General Radiology and its sub-specialties: Computerized Tomography, Magnetic Resonance Imaging, Ultrasound, Nuclear Medicien, Radiation therapy and Vascular/Interventional Imaging. Transcriptionists must be adaptable to the variations in speech patterns, accents, tone, voice volume, notes and style of delivery, pronunciations and enunciations submitted by our a diverse group of medical personnel. Contractor will be required to submit transcriptionist certifications and three business references before award. This is a 100% small business set-aside. Offerors will submit Standard Form 1449 available at (www.gsa/forms) reflecting the billable hourly rate(s). The Government will only pay for hours worked, lunch and breaks are not billable. Government holiday work may be required. Proposals to this office are due no later than 3/14/02 4:30pm.
