- The Department of Defense, Naval Explosive Ordnance Disposal Technology Division (NAVEODTECHDIV) is requesting information from vendors and manufacturers on eyewear that has the capability of enhancing the visibility of Class III laser sighting devices in bright sunlight. Descriptive literature should include product data sheets, product quality, reliability, company point of contact, and pricing information. Desired system parameters: 1) requires no power source 2) can be worn under helmets 3) weighs less than six ounces 4) easily and readily adaptable to be worn by users of different sizes. The data collected from this market research effort will be utilized to better understand the ability of commercially available items to meet projected needs. Desired system parameters do not necessarily represent the minimum acceptable capabilities. Interested entities should submit responses to Ms. Priscilla Swann, NAVEODTECHDIV Code 0522E, 2008 Stump Neck Road, Indian Head, Maryland 20640. Faxed responses are acceptable at (301) 744-4046. Responses must be received no later than 15 March 2002. Each response must reference the sources sought title. This is not a Request for Proposal (RFP). There is no commitment on the part of the U.S. Navy to award a contract as a result of this request for information.
