- Description
- This requirement is in support of Puget Sound Naval Shipyard, Bremerton, WA for Ready-Mix Concrete. Request Type I for construction use where concrete is exposed to moderate heat and hydration is required. Type III for use when high strength is required. Various amounts will be required from 3 CD to 100 CD. Material to conform to several ASTMs (C260,C494, C94). Duration of contract period for issuance of delivery orders will be from date of award through one year thereafter. Procurement to be awarded as an Indefinite Delivery, Indefinite Quantity contract for a base ordering period of one year with two one year options. Delivery of items to be within 5 days after date of order. Ready-mixed concrete not specified otherwise shall be mixed and delivered by one of the following methods: Truck Mixing - concrete shall be mixed and delivered in a truck mixer; Combination Central Plant and Truck Mixing (Shrink Mixing) - Concrete shall be partially mixed in a central plant mixer and the mixing completed in a truck mixer; and Central Plant Mixing - Concrete shall be mixed completely in a stationary mixer at a plant and transported to the site of the work in a truck agitator or a truck mixer operating at a speed of rotation designated by the manufacturer as agitation speed. This is a 100% Small Business Set-Aside. Inspection and Acceptance at Destination, Bremerton, WA. This requirement will be procured under commercial, simplified acquisition procedures utilizing best value evaluation of offers. When the solicitation is available for download, prospective offerors should carefully review the solicitation posted at http://www.neco.navy.mil/ (then "Business Opportunities") (then search using the solicitation number N0040602T0105, all are "zeros" not the letter "oh"). It is anticipated that the solicitation will be available for download after 05 Nov 01. After downloading the solicitation, firms interested in submitting quotes must: (1) complete the pricing, (2) complete all representations and certifications found in the solicitation, (3) manufacturer information of proposed items and (4) ensure current registration in the DoD Central Contractor Registration database (http://www.ccr.2000.com/). This is a web-based solicitation. No hard-copy solicitation/amendment documents will be distributed by the Government. The Government will not mail or fax the solicitation or any amendments thereto. Subsequent amendments to the solicitation, if any, will be promulgated ONLY via the NECO website. Prospective quoters are responsible for checking the referenced web page early and periodically for any solicitation amendments. Interested parties should not expect notification that an amendment has been issued. The Government web site is occasionally inaccessible due to maintenance.
