- Description
- Under the authority of the Federal Acquisition Regulation, Part 6, subparts 6.301 and 6.302-1, DARPA intents to contract with Applied Minds, Inc.; 1209 Grand Central Avenue; Glendale, CA 91201, on a sole source basis to provide expert services in an advisory capacity to identify innovative design approaches to distributed collaboration and information systems design for DARPA. Mr. Bran Ferren?s extensive experience as a designer and technologist working in entertainment, product development, engineering, architecture and the sciences in addition Dr. W. Daniel Hillis has extensive experience as an inventor, scientist, author and engineer, which make them uniquely qualified for this advisory function. Any response to this notice must show clear and convincing evidence that competition would be advantageous to the government. In doing so, interested sources must submit technical capabilities, pricing, and other information that demonstrates their ability to meet DARPA?s needs. Detailed capabilities must be submitted to DARPA, CMO, 3701 North Fairfax Drive, Arlington, VA 222031-1714, ATTN: Barbara Meyrowitz. This synopsis is not to be considered a request for quotations or proposals. No solicitation document is available and telephone requests will not be honored. No contract will be awarded on the basis of offers received in response to this notice, but offers will be used to determine if a comparable source is available and more advantageous to the government. If no affirmative written response is received within 30 days from the publication of this synopsis, a contract may be issued to Applied Minds, Inc. without further notice.
