NA THIS ANNOUNCEMENT CONSTITUTES A SOURCES SOUGHT SYNOPSIS FOR WRITTEN INFORMATION ONLY. THE GOVERNMENT DOES NOT INTEND TO AWARD A CONTRACT ON THE BASIS OF THIS NOTIFICATION OR OTHERWISE PAY OR ANY INFORMATION OR INQUIRY. The following information is provide d to assist TACOM-RI in conducting Market Research of Industry to determine potential contractors who have the skills, experience, and knowledge required to successfully complete this effort. This is not a request for proposal or request for bid. TACOM-R I is seeking sources that can produce the Caliber .50 Browning Machine Gun Bolt Sub Assembly. This item?s manufacturing process includes the following: tight tolerance machining, heat treatment to include local induction hardening, phosphate coating, pres s fitting, selective assembly, high pressure test cartridge proof firing, and magnetic particle inspection processes that meets Army Technical Data Package (TDP) requirements. In addition, the contractor will be required to utilize Government Furnished We apon(s) and Ammunition to conduct a high-pressure test cartridge proof firing. The Government is anticipating a 5 year Indefinite Delivery Indefinite Quantity contract with a minimum order quantity of 500 Caliber .50 Browning Machine Gun Bolt Sub Assembly, NSN 1005-00-614-7463, P/N 6147463. Interested parties submitting responses should indicate whether they are large, small, small disadvantaged, 8(a), women-owned, Hub-zone, or HBCU/MI. If a sufficient number of small businesses, women-owned, Hub-zoned, HBCU/MI or 8(a) certified businesses r espond to this announcement the acquisition might be 100% set-aside.
