- Description
- The U.S. Postal Service is soliciting proposals for the replacement of the fire alarm system at the Detroit BMC. This is a Design/Build Repair and Alteration Project. The work includes, but is not limited to, investigation of existing systems (Fire Alarm Panels, raceways, junction boxes, interfaces to other systems, etc.) design, furnishing, installation, connection and testing of a new microprocessor controlled, intelligent reporting fire alarm network equipment required to form a complete, operative, coordinated fire alarm system to replace the existing system. It shall include, but not be limited to, alarm initiating devices, alarm notification appliances, Network Fire Alarm Control Panels (FACP), Network Reporting Terminals (NRT), Network Liquid Crystal Display (NLCD), auxiliary control devices, annunciators, and wiring. General scope and nature of work is depicted on the drawings and in the technical specifications. Successful offeror is required to complete the design and furnish and install a complete code compliant, fully operational fire alarm system. Construction cost range: $900,000 - $1,000,000. A pre-proposal meeting will be held on March 1, 2002, at 10:00 am, at the Bulk Mail Center, 17500 Oakwood Drive, Detroit, Michigan.Minority-owned and Women-owned Business participation is encouraged. Evaluation criteria in addition to price will be considered and are as follows: 1. Past Performance - Experience; and 2. Supplier Capability - Financial Capability and Capacity/Resources. Specifications will be available on or about February 15, 2002. Specifications will be provided for a non-refundable cost of $100.00, for all requests received no later than March 13, 2002. Orders can be pre-paid by Corporate or Personal Check made out to LDI Reproprinting Center (DO NOT MAKE THE CHECK OUT TO THE U.S. POSTAL SERVICE). This is included in the price of the prints and specifications. USPS Express Mail service is also available at an additional cost. There will be no public opening of offers. All proposal information received is CONFIDENTIAL until award of a contract. The name of the successful offeror and the amount of the contract will be released as public information. The number of offerors, their names, and the amount of their offers WILL NOT BE RELEASED AS PUBLIC INFORMATION.
