- Description
- USDA-Natural Resources Conservation Service is announcing a project under the Emergency Watershed Protection (EWP) Project for Grayson County. This project will consist of repairing a floodwater detention dam built in 1966 with a floodwater detention storage of 440 acre-feet and 65 acre-feet of sediment storage. The designed volume of earthfill was 39,035 cubic yards. The dam is approximately 1,100 feet long and 25 feet high and is constructed with 2.5 to 1 front and back slopes. The dam controls the runoff from approximately 1.28 square miles of drainage area. The repair work will require 9,989 cubic yards of common excavation, 7,690 cubic yards of lime-treated earthfill, and 26,521 square yards of topsoil. Soil disturbing activities will include; clearing and grubbing, developing lime treatment area, maintenance of access road, embankment removal, lime treatment of removed embankment soils and embankment reconstruction, placement of waste materials, and grading, shaping, and replacement of topsoil on lime treatment area. Only one award will be made for the entity award. The NAICS code is 234990. Performance period will be 109 calendar days from the Notice to Proceed date, approximately May 13, 2002. A 20% bid bond will be required. Performance and payment bonds of 100% each will be required of the contractor awarded this contract. This project is unrestricted and is not set-aside for small business concerns. Price range is from $100,000 to $250,000.
