Description
The U.S. Department of the Interior Minerals Management Service intends to award a Commercial Item Contract to Microwave Telemetry, Inc. on a sole source basis for 60 implantable PTT transmitters: 30 for delivery during May, 2002 and 30 for delivery during May, 2003 (see specifications below). The transmitters are intended for use in a study of a declining population of king eiders breeding in wetlands associated with Prudhoe Bay, Alaska, and migrating along the Beaufort Sea coastline to wintering areas in the Chukchi and Bering Seas. This recently funded study is expected to provide new information on patterns of use of habitat by king eiders for molting, staging and migrating. This information is expected to be especially useful for evaluation of the potential vulnerability of those birds to offshore industrial development. In order to compete for this requirement you must be able to provide the following: PTT-100 Implantable, Operating frequency: 401.650 MHz +/- 36 kHz, Power output: 22dBm +/- 2dB, Output impedance: 50 ohms, Modulation Tri Phase PSK: +/- 1.1 Rad +/- 0.1 Rad, Quiescent current: <3?A, Spurious emissions: -45 dB, Transmission interval: 45 to 120 sec *, Supply voltage: 3.6-4 volts, Dimensions (electronic unit only): 1.90" (48) x 0.65" (17) x 0.28" (7) (mm), Weight (electronic unit only): 3.5g, Total weight: 30-35g, Operating temperature range: -15 to 45 Deg C*, and Multi-Season NANO Timer. No solicitation document exists for this requirement. All expressions of interest shall be faxed to 703-787-1387 within 13 days after date of publication of this synopsis to be considered by the Government. This date will not be extended. Phone calls will neither be accepted nor acknowledged.
