Description
Provide medical transcription services for dictated material which includes a high incidence of technical terminology and requires a knowledge of specialized vocabularies. These medical reports will include, but are not limited to: operative reports, compensation and pension examinations, progress notes, and consultations. Sample formats will be supplied on disk. The specialized vocabularies will encompass a variety of subjects in the field of medicine and surgery to include: cardiology, dermatology, dentistry, drug and alcohol treatment, endocrinology, general medicine, gastroenterology, general surgery, gynecology, hematology, immology, neurology, oncology, opthalmology, oral surgery, orthopedics, otolaryngology, podiatry, psychiatry, psychology, plastic surgery, pulmonary disease, renal, rheumatology, spinal cord injury, thoracic surgery, transplant and urology. Material is dictated by many different physicians requiring adaptation to variations in accents, speech, tone, voice volume, delivery, pronunciation and enunication. Contractor is responsible for correct spelling, for distinguishing between similar sounding technical terms, arranging material in format, correcting grammar as necessary, inserting proper punctuation and ensuring that content of dictated material remains intact. Contractor shall exercise judgment as to which administrative or clerical discrepancies shall be referred to the Contracting Officer's Technical Representative (COTR) for clarification or correction. Abbreviation in reference to diagnostic, operation and special procedure shall not be used except as dictated. Patient identification and date of dictation as furnished on the scanning log or by the physician shall appear on all pages of the final typed transcribed report. All work will be performed on the Contractor's premises.
