- Description
- The contract will be awarded in accordance with FAR 5.202(a)(12). The proposed contract action is by a Defense agency and the proposed contract action will be made and performed outside the United States, its possessions, or Puerto Rico and only local sources will be solicited. CLIN 0001: Manufacture and Installation of outdoor freezer/chiller, with steel frame. The Freezer/Refrigerator: One 10 foot x 12 foot (approx. 8 foot ceiling minimum height) outdoor walk-in refrigerator/freezer. Requires a door of approx 40 inches wide for each the refrigerator and freezer. Door has to have locking hardware. The coldroom should be designed for outdoor use with it's own sealed roof. The coldroom needs to be wired with an alarm which would be run underground and into the kitchen. Unit should be properly insulated and sealed to avoid condensation buildup on the outside or moisture leaking into the freezer. Electrical connections and foundation work to be supplied by manufacturer or builder. A suitable foundation is required. The U.S. Air Force can provide concrete slabs which are approx 2 inches thick and 2 feet long if needed. Coldroom works: Manufacture, deliver, and install a modular freezer/chiller coldroom constructed to be completely weatherproof. The floor shall be a 100mm polyurethane CFC-free modular floor panel with heavy-duty 2mm galvanised rigidised treadplate floor all constructed on a hot dipped galvanised steel base frame. The walls and ceiling shall be 100mm polyurethane CFC free modular panels with white foodsafe laminate internal and external. A single entrance door shall be fitted to each chamber, 900mm wide x 1980mm high with lockable door furniture inclusive of emergency internal release. Door shall be fitted with canopy to protect door seals and fitted with PVC strip curtains to minimise temperature loss whilst door is open. Refrigeration works: The freezer/chiller shall be fitted with two independent Uniblock systems. These systems shall operate the freezer at -21 deg C holding and chiller at +2 deg C holding. All refrigeration systems shall be connected to the fused power supply (power supply supplied by RAF Lakenheath). Freezer/chiller shall be fitted with bulkhead light with external switch to each. Offerors of any equal must also include descriptive literature and any proposed modifications making an or equal item conform to specifications.
