Description: the project involves the removal of an existing duplex water softener system and the complete installation of a new system to meet the needs of the Federal Correctional Institution. The powerhouse is located inside the secure perimeter of the institution and requires security clearances to enter. The new water softeners myst be a zeolite type water softener with high capacity, long life exchange resin. Each unit must be rated to remove at least 2,100,000 grains and be capable of producing a continuous supply of water with a hardness of less than 0.5 parts per million (ppm) CaCO3. The water softener w3ill have a constant flow rate of not less than 350 gallons per minute (GPM) and a peak flow not less than 500 GPM.
