Description
This is a updated market survey for the purpose of obtaining qualified Small Business Set Aside sources for laundry/tailoring services for the National Institutes of Health/Warren Grant Magnuson Clinical Center. This is not a request for proposals or quotes, and in no way obligates the Government to award any contract. The North American Industry Classification System (NAICS) Code for this project is 812332, Industrial Laundry Cleaning and Garment Services. The NIH's Warren Grant Magnuson Clinical Center currently operates a laundry for a 350 bed hospital devoted solely to research. The Laundry supports all Patient Care, Animal Care, Laboratory and service functions at NIH. There are 50 buildings on the NIH campus and includes off campus facilities; Animal Center in Pollesvile, programs at Saint Elizabeth's Hospital, Nattional Naval Hospital, Children's Inn, New O'Hara Clinical Center Research center and several rental buildings in Bethesda, Baltimore, Gaithersburg, and Rockville, MD. Services to be furnished are all labor services, qualified professional and technical personnel, equipment and facilities. These services include pickup and delivery for Government-owned linen and garments for patients care areas estimated at 1.8 million lbs.; repairs of linen and garments estimated 2562 ea; marking and stenciling estimated 1500 ea; Government-owned laboratory coats, smocks and uniforms for laboratory areas, shop areas and animal care areas-estimated 223,620 ea; dying of government-owned towels processed-estimated 3,000lbs. Repair and linen and garments-estimated 2400ea; alterations for linen and garments estimated 21,600ea; marking and stenciling of identifications and emblems estimated 30,000ea. The services provided must meet the criteria in accordance with the guidelines of the Accreditation Manual for Health Care Organization. The purpose of the market survey is to identify Small businesses capable of meeting the requirements above. In submission of the capability statement the following information is requested: (1) Demonstrate the capability to furnish specialized laundry and garment cleaning services for a research hospital requirement; (2)For the capacity of laundry to be handled, the capability to perform services including pickup and delivery for Government-owned linen and garments for patients care areas other facilities which estimate 1.8 million lbs. annually; (3) Capability of providing personnel, adequate trucks for pickup and delivery and equipment to service all facilities which the Clinical Center is responsible for in continued laundry cleaning and garment services; (4) Provision for all required servicing and repairs for linens and garments, marking and stenciling of identifications and emblems; (5) Demonstrate the capability to provide emergency services 365 days per year (Including holidays, inclement weather etc.) 24 hours per day; (6) In Past Performance furnishing similar services for specialized laundry and garment cleaning services; (7) Identify capability of providing exchange carts to be used in emergencies and also in expansion areas of the hospital in future completion. Information collected via this market survey, shall in no way be used to limit or screen potential contractors from future consideration for selection. Vendors who desire to participate in the market survey and identify their capabilities submit information either electronically or fax by no later than February 26, 2002. The Government will not pay for the collection or preparation of any information submitted.
