- Description
- The United States Navy, Naval Facilities Engineering Command issues a notice of intent to bid for the construction of a NATO project to Install a Gas Distribution Main-Line & an Air Force project to Install Communications Duct Bank at Aviano Air Base, Italy. The NATO funded portion of this construction contract will construct approximately 10 kilometers of 160 mm po;yvinyl-chloride (PVC) gas distribution main-line around the perimeter of Area F at Aviano Air Base, Italy. The gas distribution main-line will include all necessary valves, tees, etc., to facilitate future connection by other projects as they are built. The Air Force funded portion of this contract will construct 10 kilometers of 8-12 way buried and concreted encased 125 mm PVC communications duct bank (no communication cabling included), included manholes at approximately 100 meter intervals. Both the gas distribution main-line and communication duct bank will share the same routing and will be located within the same trench. All U.S. applicants must be certified by the NATO procurement officer at the U.S. Department of Commerce, Office of Telecommunications.
