- The work of this contract involves the removal of approximately 100 squares of red cedar roof, documentation of existing conditions, installation of a new red cedar perfection roof and associated flashing elements.--An estimated 200 square feet of sheathing replacement may be needed.--The building is a 1777 house located in Schuylerville, NY, is owned and operated by the National Park Service and is a unit of Saratoga National Historical Park.--The work must meet preservation standards and approval of an NPS Historical Architect.--Due to park operations, the contract must be completed by May 17, 2002.--The solicitation, plans, and specifications for this project will be issued in paper copy and will be delivered by U.S. mail.--To be included on the bidder?s list, each prospective bidder should request a solicitation package in writing on company letterhead via facsimile only to Judith A. Ferris, Contract Specialist, Saratoga National Historical Park (518) 664-9830.--Include company name, address, telephone number, email address, and point of contact. No verbal requests will be accepted.--The ESTIMATED date of solicitation package mailing is February 22, 2002 and quotations due March 15, 2002--Estimated price range is between $25,000 and $100,000--Time for completion is 45 calendar days.--All responsible sources may submit an offer, which will be considered.--Experience in removal and installation of wood shingles on historic structures is an evaluation factor.
