- Description
- NASA/ARC plans to issue a Request for Offers to provide all materials and labor to perform various HVAC mechanical modifications in various buildings. Related architectural work is also required. Extensive coordination will be required to schedule this work to minimize interference in work areas with concurrent Government activities. Tasks include the installation of three in-space- air conditioning units (ISUs) in the N233 computer rooms. Modifications to the air handler unit in the basement of building N233 includes the replacement of chilled water piping, replacement of chilled water pumps, replacement of an air handler unit; replacement of the air distribution system for a specified area; replacement of a heat pump; resurfacing a plenum floor in the basement with grout overlay; and demolition of existing mechanical systems. Replace three chillers with three new 90 ton chillers (GFE) at building N233A. Modifications to the chilled water system will be needed. Install one new 60 ton chiller and associated pump and piping system at building N254. The solicitation will include options for additional mechanical work including replacing one additional 60 ton chiller at N254, the purchase and installation of two additional ISUs and demolition of 233A room M101 cooling tower, air handler and associated equipment. The Government will make award based upon a best value analysis. Factors to be evaluated include past performance, project team and organization, utilization of small business, construction schedule and price. The order of magnitude for the procurement is between $500,000 and $1,000,000 and the effort shall be completed within 280 calendar days after award. This procurement is part of the Small Business Competitiveness Demonstration Program and shall be advertised under Full and Open Competition. The NAICS Code and small business size standard for this procurement are 235110 and $11.5M, respectively. The anticipated release date of the RFO is on or about 20 February 2002 with an anticipated offer closing date of on or about 21 March 2002. The firm date for receipt of bids or offers will be stated in the RFO.
