- Description
- The Department of Defense (DoD) is hosting a conference entitled "Scientists Helping America". The conference will be held March 11-13, 2002 in the Washington DC Metropolitan Area. Attendance will be by invitation only. The primary focus of the conference is to tap into new ideas of scientists and inventors who have not worked previously with DoD. The following key technology areas will be explored: Signature Reduction, High Bandwith/Reachback Communications, Underwater Communications, Unmanned Systems, Batteries/Fuel Cells, Remote Sensing, Advance Training Systems, Bioengineering/Chem-Bio Defense, and Directed Energy Weapons (DEW). Invitees will be selected based on government review of abstracts submitted by each potential attendee. We are looking for the best scientists and inventors America has to offer. All abstract submissions must be received by January 30, 2002. A government panel will review abstracts and make selections based on scholarly/professional contributions or achievements in associated technology thrust area and demonstrated innovation in associated technology thrust area. Approximately 225 scientists will be selected for the first annual meeting. We look forward to receiving your submissions. Those candidates selected will be notified no later than February 19, 2002.
