- The Bureau of Reclamation, Hoover Dam, has a need to have the = tapered edge of a 30-foot diameter cylinder gate valve removed and = replaced with government-furbished gussets. The job site is accessible = only by man-baskets hoisted 200 feet into one of the Hoover Dam intake = towers under permit-required confined- space conditions. The work must = be accomplished within 30 days of contract award. We strongly recommend = that all prospective offerors visit the site to examine the location of = the work. Work will be coordinated and inspected by Hoover Dam/Bureau of = Reclamation staff. Reclamation Safety and Health Standards do apply and = will be enforced.. Initial guidance for cutting the lip will be provide = by Hoover Dam staff. A pre-bid walk-through will start at the Hoover Dam = Security Office "Cop Shop" at 8 AM, February 11, 2002. The estimated = issuance date of the solicitation (RFQ) is February 1, 2002. The = estimated date for receipt of quotes is February 15, 2002. The North = American Industry Classification System code for this project is 235990 = and the small business size standard is $11.5 Million.=20
