- THIS IS A "DOMESTIC SOURCES SOUGHT" ANOUNCEMENT. IT IS NOT A SOLICITATION. The Fleet & Industrial Supply Center, Puget Sound, WA (FISCPS) is seeking sources for U.S. MADE BEARINGS. Specifically, FISCPS is seeking sources for the following: Sealed Ball Bearing Part number AST 699-2RS (9mm I.D. X 20 mm O.D. X 6mm wide) or equal to be used in a Scripta Engraver Model CN900 for a sheet metal shop at the Puget Sound Naval Shipyard. Scripta's part number for the bearing is AY9ZZ. These bearings fit a leadscrew part number 521210-8. The bearing we are seeking is a "sealed" bearing, not a "shielded" bearing. We need a bearing that lasts longer than the shielded bearing. The requirement is for 12 each of these bearings that are restricted to domestic sources under DFAR 225-7017-1 and the Fiscal Year 2002 Appropriation act. All domestic sources are welcome to submit information on these bearings which shall be considered by FISCPS. Although the requirement is for 12 each bearings, domestic sources are encouraged to submit information with regard to a minimum quantity that would be necessary to make it feasible for a domestic source to make these bearings. All information submitted from domestic sources with regard to this sources sought announcement must be received by March 20, 2002.
