- Description
- Solicitation N00421-02-T-0014 is issued as a request for quote (RFQ). This action is not set aside for small business. The Government intends to purchase on a firm fixed price basis and to solicit and negotiate the proposed purchase order on a sole source basis with Gentex Corporation for the part numbers listed below, under the authority of FAR Part 6.302-1. Gentex helmets are the only ones that meet the following minimum Government requirements: 1) provide a minimum of 1400psi cranial ballistic protection; 2) include integrated headset with internal speakers and mounted waterproof dynamic microphone; 3) provide static noise protection at a minimum of 82db at 4000 Hz; 4) provide ?wet pluggable? and waterproof cables and connectors used in marine applications; 5) have automatic Advanced Noise Reduction capability; 6) adaptable to a one size fits all using internal sizing adjustments; and 7) have adequate mounting plates, straps, surfaces for night vision or ballistic goggles. The contract line item number and description is *** CLIN 0001 quantity 65 each, P/N 94D8963-2 RIB Boat Helmet; CLIN 0002 quantity 65 each, P/N 94B8953 Lower Cord Assembly; CLIN 0003 quantity 65 each, P/N 94A8791-1 Ballistic Goggle Assembly with Clear Lens; CLIN 0004 quantity 18 each, P/N 94D8963-2 RIB Boat Helmet; CLIN 0005 quantity 18 each, P/N 94B8953 Lower Cord Assembly; and CLIN 0006 quantity 18 each, P/N 94A8791-1 Ballistic Goggle Assembly with Clear Lens. *** Award is expected 1 February 2002. Interested persons may identify their interest and capability to respond to the requirement or submit proposals. This notice of intent is not a request for competitive proposals. However, the Government will consider all proposals received by 31 January 2002. A determination by the government not to compete this proposed contract based upon responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government. Information received will normally be considered solely for the purpose of determining whether to conduct a competitive procurement. The Government will not pay for any information received.
