- Description
- The Marine Corps has a requirement to procure Tactical Defense Message Systems (TDMS) that will provide Defense Message System (DMS) Local Control Center (LCC) capabilities to Marine Expeditionary Forces (MEFs) and Major Subordinate Commands (MSCs) when ashore. The system design shall be COTS equipment-based to the maximum extent practicable, be transportable and be ruggedized (to best commercial practice standards). Additionally, the contractor shall provide logistics support to include worldwide logistics support, warranty service, system user training, and system documentation. The Marine Corps intends to field 91 TDMS systems with up to fourteen (14)additional systems (optional). The Marine Corps intends to procure on an unrestrictive competitive basis. All responsible sources may submit an offer that will be considered. The request for proposals (RFP) will be posted on or about 25 January 2002 on the MARCORSYSCOM Business Opportunity Website located at www.marcorsyscom.usmc.mil/mcscctq/tdms.htm. Offerors are encouraged to monitor the website periodically for changes/amendments to the RFP. No hard copy versions of the solicitation will be available.
