- The US Dept of Veterans Affairs, Great Lakes Acquisition Center is planning to negotiate a sole source contract with the Datascope Company for the maintenance of 8 Datascope System 98, Intra-Aortic Balloon Pumps located in the Hines VA Hospital, Hines, IL. This is considered to be a sole source because Datascope is the manufacturer of the equipment and has the necessary software needed for repair, troubleshooting and maintaining the equipment within manufacturer's specifications. This system is for patient safety at the Hines VA Hospital. Other sources that believe they can meet VA needs must furnish information and references to this office by no later than noon on January 25, 2002.
