Description
THE ADDRESS SHOWN ABOVE IS INCORRECT. The address for the Contracting Office responsible for this solicitation is: National Institutes of Health, Division of Research Acquisition, OLAO, 6100 Executive Blvd., Room 6E01, MSC 7540, Bethesda, Maryland 20892-7540. The National Institutes of Health has a requirement to provide technical support for the NIH Office of Medical Applications of Research (OMAR) in fulfilling its responsibilities to identify and assess medical technologies and to make judgments as to their suitability for incorporation into medical practice and to further the understanding and advancement of disease prevention research and health promotion. Specifically, the Contractor shall be required to furnish administrative, management, and clerical support for the Consensus Development Conference (CDC) meetings and the pre-CDC meetings. The Contractor shall also be required to perform tasks such as technical writing and reporting, media relations, scientific journal routing, teleconferencing, speech writing, and other channels of medical communications. The Contract shall conduct technology assessment seminars and workshops, utilizing outside experts and consultants, and write scientific papers/reviews on a particular technology. Finally, the Contractor shall evaluate previous and ongoing technology assessment/technology transfer activities to assess the extent, effectiveness and impact of OMAR?s dissemination efforts and exonomic analyses of specific conference technologies. The Contractor must have the capability for a 24 hour turnaround time for the preparation and revision of typed materials, such as agendas and abstracts, as well as slides, during the entire consensus development conference planning process and especially during the actual consensus conferences. The Contractor must also have conference facilities to accommodate 30 people, including adjoining support facilities (clerical, duplicating, food serving, break-out rooms, etc.). If a Contractor does not own their own conference facility, they must be able to provide a written rental commitment for conference facilities through June 2007. This conference facility must be located proximate to the NIH campus (within approximately 30 minutes commuting time at any given time of the day). All responsible sources may submit a proposal which shall be considered. No collect calls will be accepted. THE SOLICITATION WILL BE AVAILABLE ELECTRONICALLY ONLY. The solicitation will be available on or about January 22, 2002 at the following website: http://ocm.od.nih.gov/drc/rfp.htm. Proposals will be due 45 calendar days after the date of issuance of the solicitation.
