Description
NASA/JSC plans to issue a Request for Offer (RFO) for specialized technical services to provide Vehicle Integration Test Office (VITO) engineering, management, and organizational services focused on the NASA Johnson Space Center Astonaut Office payload related activites at the Kennedy Space Center, Florida. Services include but are not limited to sharp edge inspections, fit checks, closeout photo operations, flight crew interface checks, demonstration of on-orbit procedures, documentation management of discrepancies, correcitve action reporting and analysis, and related special studies. The basic period of performance is April 1, 2002, through March 31, 2003, with a phase-in period prior to April 1, 2002, if required. The contract will include 1 six-month option, and 2 three-month options, extending the contract through March 31, 2004, if all options are exercised. The Government does not intend to acquire a commercial item using FAR Part 12. See Note 26. The NAICS Code and Size Standard are 541330 and $4,000,000, respectively. The DPAS Rating for this procurement is DO-C9. The provisions and clauses in the RFO and model contract are those in effect through FAC 97-27. All qualified responsible sources may submit an offer which shall be considered by the agency. The anticipated release date of the RFO is on or about January 25, 2002 with an anticipated offer due date of on or about February 25, 2002. An ombudsman has been appointed -- See NASA Specific Note "B". The solicitation and any documents related to this procurement will be available over the Internet. These documents will be in Microsoft Office 97 format and will reside on a World Wide Web (WWW) server, which may be accessed using a WWW browser application.
