Description
Sole Source procurement to Alliant Ammunition & Powder Co LLC, Route 114, PO Box 1, Radford, VA 24141-0100 to manufacture M30A2 Granular Propellant for use in the M232 MACS Propellant Charge Increments. The US Army intends to award a contract to make up to 150,000 pounds of M30A2 propellant to support the production of the M232 propelling charge increments for the MACS main propellant system. The propelling charge loaded with the propellant shall function satisfactorily without inert, smoldering or burning residue and the signature shall meet the ?free-field? blast overpressure criteria. This effort is part of the FY02 production of the M232 charges. Contractor should have the required engineering staff, equipment, expertise and facility to make up to three lots of M30A2 propellant, totaling one hundred fifty thousand (150,000) pounds. The first lot that consists of 20,000 pounds of propellant shall be delivered 90 days after award of contract. Delivery of the other lots shall be one each month beginning 120 days after award of contract. The second lot consists of 20,000 pounds of propellant, and the third lot consists of 60,000 pounds of M30A2 propellant. This acquisition is intended for Alliant Ammunition & Powder Company LLC. All the technical data will be marked with limited distribution statement F: Further dissemination only as directed by MACS Engineering Team, AMSTA-AR-WEE- B, Picatinny Arsenal, NJ 07806-5000 (March 96) or higher DoD authority.
