Description
Solicitation reference number 02-897-2052, Cojputer Requirements for Computer Forensics Tool Testing Project, Brand Name or Equal, posted December 27, 2001, is addended as follows. The National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST) has a "BRAND NAME OR EQUAL" computer requirement for a Quantity of 5 forensic systems. Part numbers are not available. The power supply/configuration for each system are to be suggested by the quoter. Only one hard drive shall be installed in each system, in a removable sled with the specified operating system on a single full disk partition: System 1 - Maxtor EIDE 40 GB and Windows ME; System 2 - IBM EIDE 40 GB and Window 2000; System 3 - Maxtor EIDE 40 GB and Windows XP Professional; System 4 - IBM EIDE 40 GB and Linux Red Hat 7.2 Standard; System 5 - Maxtor EIDE 40 GB and FreeBSD 4.4. When all slots are filled, each system will appear to have three (3) EIDE and at least two (2) hard drives. There will be spare, uninstalled hard drives.CLINs 0001-00019, components are one (1) each for each system. CLINs 0024-0030 specify a quantity of 6 to allow for a spare. CLINs 0031-0034 will migrate among all systems, controlling software will be installed on all operating systems. There will not be any permanently installed hard drives. All hard drives will be removable and interchangeable among the five PCs and existing PCs located at NIST. The 5 Operating Systems will be installed on the hard drives as specified in the solicitation. Remaining drives are to be installed in the appropriate data port sleds, formatted in a single FAT32 partition using the entire disk. All disks are to be in appropriate data port sleds to create a large variety of disk configurations. If an operating system must be installed, use full install on a single whole disk partition. Each system must be able to have 3 EIDE and 2 SCSI disks installed at one time. IDE drives shall be jumpered for Cable Select. All SCSI hard drives shall be attached to the Adaptec card. All other SCSI devices shall be attached to the second SCSI card. All cabling necessary is included in the solicitation. Only the "standard" tape drive software is required. Software will be installed for both tape drives and firewire disks on each of the five (5) operating systems disks so that these devices may be used with any of the operating systems. Install software, drivers, etc., as necessary for the monitors, mouse, CD-ROM, KVM devices, etc. for all operating systems. CLIN 0004, Quantity of 5, CASE: Chenming Server ATX-801F; CLIN 00010, Quantity of 5, SOUND CARD: Creative Labs Live PCI - Additional sound functionality is not required; CLIN 00015, Quantity of 5, NETWORK CARD: Intel 10/100 on Motherboard, only one networking connection is required; CLIN 0021, Quantity of 10, SCSI Removable Drives: CRU Data Port 6 (matches current) - Current EIDE systems have 9170-751-01 assemblies;CLIN 0022, Quantity of 40, EIDE Removable Sleds: Data Port 5 cartridge only; CLIN 0023, Current SCSI systemsSCSI systems have #9086-751-01 assemblies; SCSI drives are LVD; CLIN 0043, Quantity of 1, Red Hat Linux 7.2 Standard; CLIN 0044, Quantity of 1, FreeBSD 4.4 Jewelcase: Latest version. Quotes shall be firm-fixed price, the requirement to provide price per CLIN is waived. Technical description and/or product literature - technical documentation is required, a website is not acceptable. The requirement for two (2) copies of the most recently published price list(s) is waived; All offers should be mailed to NIST, Acquisition and Assistance Division, Attn: Laurel A.
