Description
The Naval Undersea Warfare Center Division Newport is soliciting interest from sources that have the capability to provide repair technicians for Survivability Testing Environmental Chamber Repair/ Service. NUWCDIVNPT is interested in entering into agreements with sources that can provide the following capabilities: Provide rapid service for the repair of an array of Environmental Test Chambers. There are a total of 14 chambers ranging in size from bench-top to walk-in. The service and troubleshooting of environmental chambers is a specialty field and requires knowledge of complex refrigeration, electrical and PID (Proportional Integral Derivative) based PC controller circuits. The refrigeration circuit (cascade) requires knowledge of many circuits not found in typical commercial and industrial systems such as; liquid injection, hot gas bypass, low stage dump valves, liquid control valves, freon to freon de-superheaters and dehumidification loops. Repair technicians shall posses the qualifications as follows: (a) 10 years experience servicing environmental test chambers (minimum) (b) Rhode Island state license: S-1 unlimited cooling , heating and refrigeration (or equivalent) (c) EPA refrigeration certification (d) Factory trained to perform chloroflourocarbon (CFC) retrofit and knowledge of the following: hydroflourocarbon (HFC) and hydrochloroflourocarbon (HCFC) refrigerants, polyester oil replacements for different compressor manufacturers, high-efficiency valve plate replacements, low-temperature injection replacement and new dump valve settings to properly complete a retrofit (e) Trained for Refrigerant reclaiming and charging (f) The technician must also have been factory trained, been a factory-approved contractor for or at least three (3) years? experience servicing the following chambers: (1) Thermotron Model: FX-32-CHV-15-15 (2) Vista Scientific Model: VWTH-280-30-30 (3) Russells Model: RD-30-3-3 (DD) (4) Tenney Benchmaster Model: BTRS (5) Tenney Model: Tenney Jr. (6) Tenney Model: TR-Walk-In (7) Tenney Model: Norfolk (8) Webber Model: WF-40-6-73-100+250H (9) Webber Model: WF-315-100+350H (10) B-M-A Model: TH-41CC (11) Tenney Model: TTRS-40350 (12) Weber Thermal Shock Model: WF27-40+250 (13) Weber Model: WF-13-100+400. There have been a total of 36 repairs over the last three (3) years. The required response time is 48 hours or less. Our department no longer issues solicitations or amendments in paper form.
