Description
Provide all necessary Architectural and Engineering Services for the development of drawings, and construction documents for Seismic Upgrades to Buildings 6 and 16 at the Portland Veterans Affairs Medical Center, Portland, Oregon. Specifics: Seismically retrofit Buildings 6 and 16. Project will include the design of new shear walls and other structural elements to be added to the buildings to bring them up to current seismic code (UBC 3). Both Buildings are of concrete construction and were built around 1930 and contain asbestos. Building 6 is 3 stories tall and has approximately 22,000-sq. ft. with a crawl space. Building 16 is 4 stories tall and has approximately 24,000-sq. ft. with a crawl space. The project will also include architectural, mechanical and electrical design modifications to accommodate the new structural members. A/E services shall incorporate certified industrial hygienist to perform asbestos abatement documents and review all asbestos submittals. The construction documents consist of complete specifications, drawings and a detailed construction cost estimate for Building 6 and a separate complete set of specifications, drawings and a detailed construction cost estimate for Building 16. Reviews shall be scheduled at the design development, 60% completion and 100% completion for each building. VA standards, details and specifications shall be used for the preparation of design documents. The A/E shall have access to all available "as-built" drawings: mechanical, plumbing, electrical, structural, architectural, and asbestos survey. Construction period services and site inspections are required in this project. Firms located outside the Portland metropolitan area shall describe how they intend to provide these on site services during the construction period. The combined estimated construction range is between $2,000,000.00 and $3,000,000.00. Completion time for the A/E portion of the project is 120 calendar days. This is a 100% small business set-aside.
