DESC: This is a combined synopsis/solicitation for commercial items prepared in accordance with the format in Subpart 12.6, as supplemented with additional information included in this notice. This announcement constitutes the only solicitation; proposals are being requested and a WRITTEN SOLICITATION WILL NOT BE ISSUED. The solicitation number is DE-RQ04-02AL67573 and is issued as a request for quotation (RFQ). The solicitation document and incorporated provisions and clauses are those in effect through Federal Acquisition Circular 2001-01. This acquisition is being considered for 100 percent small business set-aside. Firms responding should indicate whether or not they are small business, small women-owned business, small disadvantaged business, HUBZone, or 8(a) business. Interested concerns should indicate interest to the Contracting Office, in writing, as early as possible, but no later than 15 calendar days of this notice. The North American Industry Classification System Code (NAICS) code for this acquisition is 315228. The Small Business size standard is 500 employees. The Department of Energy, Albuquerque Operations Office (DOE-AL) intends to procure the following items: Line Item 0001 Qty 47 Each, CQB Assault Suit, Sage, Size XXLarge Regular; Line Item 0002 Qty 47 Each, CQB Assault Suit, Sage, Size XXLarge Long; Line Item 0003 Qty 21 Each, CQB Assault Suite, Sage, Size XLarge Regular; Line Item 0004 Qty 50 Each, CQB Assault Suit, Sage, Size XLarge Long; Line Item 0005 Qty 23 Each, CQB Assault Suit, Sage, Size Large Regular; Line Item 0006 Qty 50 Each, CQB Assault Suit, Sage, Size Large Long; Line Item 0007 Qty 44 Each, CQB Assault Suit, Sage, Size Medium Regular; Line Item 0008 Qty 50 Each, CQB Assault Suit, Sage, Size Medium Long; Line Item 0009 Qty 37 Each CQB Assault Suit, Sage, Small Regular. The Assault Suit is manufactured from flame retardant and anti-static Nomex IIIA Material and is designed to provide the individual operation with protection from high temperatures and/or flash fires which may be encountered while conducting CQB missions. Features include: stand-up, wrap-around collar; single front-breast pocket; full-length two-way zipper with flash guard; elastic waist for contour and comfortable fit; thigh pockets; adjusting tab on sleeve cuff; adjustable tabs to secure bottom of legs; pit zippers for ventilation; upper arm pockets moved outward to prevent entrapment of objects in pockets when arms locked in shooting stance; lower leg pockets located rearward to prevent kneeling on objects in pockets; bi-swing back from waist to shoulders for extended reach; double zipper drop seat with hook loop fastener; knees, elbows, and drop seat double-reinforced.
